Frequently Asked Questions:
Refund Policy: Absolutely no refunds. There are signs posted on the doors and cash registers noting our no refund policy. No exchange is allowed for activity purchased for merchandise in our Gift Shop. We ask you not to ask our staff to make an exception to our policy. We will exchange pristine, unused and unworn merchandise within 24 hours of purchase.
Inclement Weather: We are open for crystal digging when it is raining. Zip-line will close for 30 minute intervals due to thunder. Please note, we do not give refunds due to weather.
Fresh Dirt: Visit our fresh dirt log to find the dates dirt was hauled to the digging area. It is updated after the material has been hauled. The log is not a calendar of future dates. We do not have scheduled days.
Coleman's Rocks-R-Gems: Our sister store/rock shop is located at 1400 East Grand Avenue, Hot Springs. Shop for globally sourced minerals, mineral decor, jewelry and gifts. There is no public digging area at the Hot Springs location.
Wholesale Pricing: Please email your resale tax certificate, phone number and address to info@roncolemanmining.com to establish an account. We will assign a discount code specific to your business. We are a vendor at The Tucson Gem & Mineral show (location: Mineral & Fossil Co-Op, 1635 N Oracle Rd) and at Quartzsite Mineral Show (location: Prospectors Panorama, 35 Kuehn St)
Crystal Mining: Open year-round. Our public crystal hunting/digging area is a large area (4 acres) with tailings brought up from our commercial mining operation. For safety reasons, we do not open pockets in the commercial mining area for public digging.
Crystal Mining Prices: Adult: $25, Senior: $20, Children (7-15) $5.00, 6 & under: Free (all persons in a church, scout or school group are required to pay $5 per activity)
Reward Program: Request a card, have it marked each time you pay and receive a free dig on your 6th visit.
Hours: Current digging hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm every day. The mine is open 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year. Winter/Spring hours (Day after Labor Day to the day before Memorial Day): 8 am to 4:30 pm, Summer/Fall hours: 8 am to 5:30 pm (Memorial Day to day before Labor Day). * Please note: We do not sell mining permits 60 minutes before close.
Annual Holiday Closings: Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas day
Do you rent tools? No, we do not rent tools and equipment. It is not included in your daily dig fee. You are welcome to bring your own tools or purchase in our Gift Shop.
What should I bring? We suggest you bring a small ice chest, snacks, water, hat, sunscreen, old clothes, old sneakers or boots, protective eye wear, heavy gloves, 5 gallon bucket, garden shovel or cultivator. If you wish to clean your crystals in the digging area, bring a water source or soft bristle brush to remove some dirt. (tools, sunscreen, gloves, water and snacks can be purchased in our gift shop)
Where do I clean my crystals? Our wash stations are currently closed. Do not wash your crystals in the restroom sinks, showers or your campsite. We sell Oxalic acid to take home with you to clean them more.
Do You Assist In Loading Large Crystals? We ask for your understanding, we no longer assist in loading large crystals.
Can you keep what you find? Yes, you can keep everything you dig for no extra charge. Bring a box, newspaper or zip lock bags to protect what you find.
Do you have restrooms? Yes, we have restroom facilities in our Gift Shop and port-o-potties in the digging area parking lot. Bathhouse showers may be used by persons digging at the mine when they pay a fee at the Gift Shop and present the receipt to the shower house attendant. Otherwise, only persons staying at the campground are allowed to use campground facilities.
Are you handicap accessible? Our main parking area and Gift Shop area are on level surfaces and easily maneuvered. If you are interested in taking the tour, there is pea gravel on the ground near the truck. An all terrain wheelchair or assistance is needed to make the trek to the public digging area. Please do not hesitate to call 501-984-5396 to ask specific questions about your needs.
Are you pet friendly? Yes, we welcome your furry friends. Our greeter, Bella, is here most days. We ask you only bring well behaved pets to the mine, they must be on a leash no longer than 6 feet and under owner control at all times. Be sure to bring a bowl for water and bags to clean up after your pet. You will be asked to leave If you do not clean up after your pet or if your pet consistently barks at other dogs and guests. You must sign a pet waiver for mining and staying at the RV Park.
Where do I stay? We have an RV park on our property for travel trailers, motor homes and tent camping. We recently added tiny cabin rentals due to guest requests. Reserve online at www.crystalridgervpark.com or 501-209-9933. The Village Inn is located at 4429 N Highway 7 in Hot Springs Village (501-922-9600), Comfort Suites offers our guests a discount, 3627 Central Avenue, Hot Springs, AR (501-623-1700), Hotel Hale is a newly renovated boutique hotel located on Bathhouse Row, 341 Central Avenue, Hot Springs National Park, (501)760-9010. There several VRBO's in Hot Springs Village. Enter Ron Coleman Mining in your search to find condos and homes nearest the West Gate. Lake Ouachita State Park (Mountain Pine) has cabins for rent.

Our zip-line is closed for lunch between 12:00 - 12:30 pm
Weight requirements: Minimum: 45 pounds/Maximum: 280 pounds. Disclosures: Persons who are pregnant or have a back or neck injury are not allowed to zip. We do not give refunds due to inclement weather.

Tour only $15 for adults/$10 for children
Length of guided tour: 45 to 60 minutes
Daily Schedule - 11:00, 12:30 and 3:30
RV Park Reservations: www.crystalridgervpark.com or call 501-209-9933 between the hours of 8 am and 8 pm. Payment required at booking. No long-term rentals available as we are a campground. No car camping. Tent camping and primitive camping is allowed. We do not guarantee a specific campsite and there is no guarantee of availability without reservations.
